CYO SPORTS PROGRAM

Catholic Youth Organization

The purpose of the Catholic Youth Organization Sports Program is to serve as a venue for beginning sports participation and as an alternative for some high school sports.

Sponsored activities include Cross Country for boys and girls in grades K-8, Volleyball for girls in grades 5-12, Football for boys in grades 5-8, Basketball for girls and boys in grades 5-12, and Tennis for girls and boys in grades 5-12.

Sign up for the various programs occurs at registrations in the Fall.   There is also a mass physical for all sports in the spring. Details will appear in the bulletin at the appropriate times.

Further information about the Diocesan CYO Program, including schedules and addresses, is available at the CYO Website.

CYO ATHLETES’ Spring & Summer Fun Runs: EVERY Tuesday & Thursday evening starting May 6th and running right through the summer until the start of the school year. This is a voluntary recreational activity. It is great for conditioning for Cross Country or any other fall sport. We will meet at the BGSU Recreation Center Outdoor Track at 6 pm for stretches followed by running and games. We will end at 6:45 pm. Open to all students. If your child is in 3rd grade or below we ask that you remain at the track for supervision purposes. This is not an organized sport but a recreational community activity. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help, please contact Dr. Carter Genson at drgenson@msn.com.

2008 C.Y.O. – St. Aloysius C.Y.O. offers sport physicals and early registration for athletes participating in the upcoming 2008-09 season on Thursday, April 24, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Wood County Pediatrics at the Wood County Hospital Medical Bldg. Cost is $10. For questions, please contact Jennifer Heffernan.
