CYO TRACK PROGRAM
Track
is open to girls & boys, 4th through 8th grade. Registration is
held in March. Practices start late March and several meets are held in
April & May.
The teams typically practice twice a week. The program is designed to teach the runners the fundamentals, all skill levels are welcome. CYO track provides a unique opportunity to compete both as an individual and as a team. The coaching staff is made up of college students and parents.
Meet Results
On Saturday, May 15th, the St Aloysius track team competed in its first ever NORTH WEST OHIO DIOCESAN CHAMPIONSHIP. The Cadet Girls team finished in 7th place out of 27 teams. Place winners were Casey Paluch 3rd 100 meters; Katarina Genson 3rd 1600 meters; Katarina Genson 5th 800 meters; and the relay team of Elizabeth Heffernan, Stephanie Hermes, Katarina Genson, and Casey Paluch, 6th place 4 x 100 meter relay.
On May 8th, the St. Aloysius track team competed in the St Francis invitational against 17 other teams. Place winners included Katarina Genson 2nd place 1600 meters; Casey Paluch 2nd place 100 meters; Casey Paluch long jump 2nd place; Courtney Wagner 3rd place Discus; Courtney Wagner 4th place shot put; Marisa Launstein 5th place high jump; and the 4 x 100 meter relay team of Katarina Genson, Dana Kleman, Casey Paluch, and Ashley Madaras 5th place.
On May 1, the
St Aloysius track team participated in its first ever track meet at
Bowsher Track in Toledo. The team took 8th place in the 14 team
field.

meter and 4th place in the 800 meter races
Courtney Wagner 3rd in shot put
Elizabeth Heffernan 4th in long jump
Marisa Launstein 5th in high jump
Charlie Kettinger 4th in the 1600 meter
Garrett Kingsley 5th in discus and 6th in 4 by 100
The
4 by 100 relay team of Katarina Genson, Elizabeth Heffernan, Stephanie
Hermes, and Ashley Madaras also took the 5th place ribbon.
